Do Grocery Stores Drug Test?

by The True Negative

Looking for a job at a grocery store? As we saw at the beginning of the pandemic, grocery stores were hiring like crazy due to an additional need for sanitation measures, consumers eating more of their meals at home, and food stockpiling. Based on the National Retail Federation website, there’s still a lot of grocery store hiring taking place. If you’ve been furloughed and laid off from the restaurant industry, a grocery job may be your best bet due to the rocky path to re-opening restaurants and bars.

Without going all out with a full blown Certo method, this user claims to have passed a Target drug test with drugs in their system:

“I went to a music festival and consumed drugs (amphetamines) while there. The day I was driving back from the festival, I got an email saying I had 24 hours to accept their job offer and 24 hours from acceptance of the offer to have had a company-administered drug test performed. Essentially, I stretched it out and accepted the offer 23 hours after I got it and scheduled the drug test as late as they offered it within the 24 hour time stamp from when I accepted. I flushed my system with water and fresh foods and produce and went to my job site to take the test. I didn't know until I went there that it was going to be a swab test but I took it and thought "whatever happens happens" but thankfully, I passed. They hadn't tested me at all after pre-employment screening and I was good from there.”

Village Pantry (Indiana): Yes

Walmart: Yes
